SUBJECT: Sandburg PTO News

Hello Sandburg Families,

Come Skate with Sandburg Tonight!  At 5pm, Sandburg will gather at Skate City for an active and fun Social Night.  Last year, it was a huge hit with students and staff alike, but also a significant fundraiser for our Sandburg community.  Can't make it? Join us Friday after school for a Kona Ice fundraiser from 2:30-3:30 - bring your $ and pick your flavor(s)!

Last call for Membership Toolkit Updates!  Room parents will be using data from Membership Toolkit to provide updates on class happenings, room parties, and other fun events.  Please make sure your account is current so you are in the loop.

The Playground Pals program is back!  A great opportunity to get involved with minimal commitment, watch these active kiddos and meet their friends.  Sign-up for a shift that fits your schedule and enjoy the outdoors at Sandburg.  Last but not least, save the date for the Spring Auction for Sandburg: April 12th.  Volunteers Welcome!

April 12th!

This year, PTO will be hosting an adults only night out focused on having fun and giving back so mark your calendars because April 12, 2025 is going to be a night you won't want to miss!

We are looking for a few volunteers to join our Auction Committee to bring this event from concept into reality. Jobs on the committee will range from event planning (sourcing a venue, setting a theme, choosing a menu), to helping procure fantastic auction items to help fundraise during the event, to ticket sales and communications.

If you think you may be interested, or just want to learn more please fill out this interest form and we will be reaching out to give more information in the coming weeks!

We are excited to announce that the Sandburg Playground Pals Program is back for the '24-'25 school year!

This Program is designed for parents to help the school staff promote an inclusive, safe, and fun environment during lunch recess.  It is a great way for parents to get involved in the kid’s school day while accommodating busy schedules.

Playground Pals is open to all parents, grandparents and guardians of Sandburg students. Additional support is needed especially on Monday's and Friday's due to staff shortages.

HOW IT WORKS:

There are two separate shifts available each school day:

Shift 1: 10:45am to 12:00pm on the south playground - 4th, 5th, 3rd grades

Shift 2: 12:00pm to 1:20pm on the south playground - Kinder, 1st, 2nd grades

On the day of your shift, you will sign in with the front desk and get your visitors badge. You will then check-in with Para Support Staff on the south playground.

During the shift, you will walk the entire playground to ensure that students are interacting in a safe manner and following the rules set forth by the school administration and Para Support Staff.  Once your shift is up, you will check out with Para Support Staff and return your badge/sign out at the front desk.  It's that simple!
