SUBJECT: Sandburg PTO Run4Funds Schedule

Team Sandburg,

It's a short week with NO SCHOOL FRIDAY, but plenty of events on the calendar to keep an eye on!

Run4Funds is approaching quickly, so make sure you wrap-up your email campaign by end of Today! It takes only a few moments on the custom Sandburg Website or add to your Facebook page.  We are just over $9,500 currently with a goal of $60,000 - we can do this!  And if you want to see all the fun first-hand, feel free to sign-up to help our students make those laps count!

Want another fun race? The Stride is offering an early-bird discount if you register by 9/30 - kids fun run registrations are FREE!  Sandburg can win up to $2,000 to support health and wellness simply by having the most participants.  Mark your calendars and register now!

The next PTO meeting is 10/8, and Carl Sandburg School Accountability Committee (CSSAC) meeting has been moved to 10/10.

What is CSSAC:

  • Aims to improve educational achievement
  • Recommend expenditure priorities
  • Discuss school safety issues
  • Be a conduit between the Sandburg community and principal

What is PTO:

PTO is a formal organization made up of parents, teachers, and staff whose primary goals are to support Sandburg Elementary in its academic endeavors. Additionally:

  • Encourage parent involvement
  • Support teachers
  • Organize family events

PTO also aims to enhance the quality of education by raising funds for school supplies, equipment, staff or programs that fall outside of the school’s budget. The past several years we have aimed to contribute around $50,000 to staffing support.

Anyone is welcome to participate in and contribute to these missions, or simply be present to show your interest and support!
