SUBJECT: Sandburg Happy Halloween!

Dear Sandburg Community,

We hope this message finds you in high spirits as we reflect on the fantastic success of our recent Trunk or Treat event. A heartfelt THANK YOU to all our amazing participants for making it such a memorable afternoon!

As we round out October, we want to remind you about our Halloween Parade and Parties happening this Thursday on the South Playground from 8:10–8:30 AM. We’re excited to see our little ghouls and goblins in their festive attire! Please remember to ensure that costumes are worn over regular clothes, and kindly refrain from including any weapons, masks, or overly scary themes.

We also want to shout out to everyone who joined in The Stride! What a fun-filled event that not only showcased our Sandburg Spirit but also fostered unity within our community.

It is bittersweet news to share that Mrs. Lotz, our Office Manager, has been promoted to working with LPS as Human Resources Volunteer and Onboarding Coordinator.  Her last day at Sandburg will be Thursday, on Halloween!  We are sorry to see her go, but wish her congratulations!

Looking ahead, we have more exciting activities coming your way in November, and we can’t wait to share them all with you. Until then, have a safe and happy Halloween filled with treats (and no tricks)!

Sandburg Speaker Series
The Sandburg PTO would like to help parents through periodic presentations on multiple topics of interest, beginning November 6th, 6-8pm in the Sandburg gym.

Our first speaker, Lara Baker, is a senior partner at FGMC specializing in criminal defense.  In this adult only presentation, she will be discussing:
  • School disciplinary consequences and what to do if you are contacted by the police.
  • Social media, cyber-bullying, and the use of electronic devices.
  • The temptation of drugs and alcohol and the consequences one can face.
  • Sex, sexting, and the laws of consent.
If you are interested in attending, please RSVP.
A Spooktacular Event!

Thank you so much to this wonderful community, participants, and sponsors for making our Trunk or Treat a fun and successful event!

A special shout-out to all the families who dedicated their time to host a trunk and those who generously donated toys and bags of candy. What amazing creativity and activities, the kids absolutely loved it!

And Now, the Moment We've All Been Waiting For! The kids voted with nearly 250 ballots cast, we surprisingly had a tie!

Congratulations to:

Coco Trunk #14 - The Swank Family

Little Red Riding Hood Trunk #5 - The Fegan Family

Both families will be awarded a Stanley Cup "trophy", a $50 giftcard, and their pictures featured in the Sandburg entryway. These trunks showcased amazing creativity and spirit!

A special thank you to the sponsors Benco Dental Supply and Smile Stream Solutions for donating toothbrushes and tooth care kits to our event!

Thank you once again for your participation and support. We look forward to more fun events in the future!
