SUBJECT: Sandburg: Picture Day & Spirit Wear!

Sandburg Families,

Welcome to our first full week of school!  We have several updates to share with everyone. School Pictures are happening this week!  Please consider volunteering to help brighten students' smiles and keep the kiddos lined up.  We also excited to introduce the Mountain Lion Market for Sandburg Spirit Wear!  Order early and have your items delivered directly to your student.

Next week, clear your calendar or set carpools for Back to School Curriculum Night on Thursday.  This is a great opportunity to meet teachers, see the classrooms, and learn about their schedules.  If you're interested in becoming a Room Parent, please sign-up with your teacher.  We are looking for additional Room Parents for STEAM and Music.  If interested in helping Ms. Spilker or Ms. Carter, please email sandburgpto@gmail.com.

One more reminder to complete your Annual Family Check-in, Update Membership Toolkit, Pay Fees, and check School Cafe for any added lunch purchases.  Volunteers, please remember to  register to make the check in process quick and easy.

Thank you to all who ordered Back-to-School Kits for our school supplies fundraiser.  Sandburg raised $1,530!

Lastly, our Sandburg PTO meetings will be every 2nd Tuesday of the month from 6 -7pm in the Sandburg Library.  Please feel free to join us!

Smile! It's time for pictures!

Picture Day is coming! Individual pictures will be on Thursday and Friday THIS week. We need help with wrangling the kids, fixing hair, silly faces for good smiles - whenever you can help out. 

  • Thursday 8/21 = 1st, 3rd, & 5th
  • Friday 8/22 = K, 2nd, & 4th

 Sign-up to help make those pictures great!

Remember to pre-order your pictures on the Studio Sloss website.  You will then receive the photos (no proofs are sent home for those who DO NOT order) in your student's Friday folder.  Retakes are optional if requested and the printed pictures are returned.  Order before 8/19 for background options!

We look forward to seeing you at Back to School: Curriculum Night, on Thursday, August 28th from 5:30pm – 7:00pm.  

  • Session 1 in the classroom is from 5:30-6:00 pm
  • Session 2 in the classroom is from 6:10-6:40 pm

Please join your classroom teacher in either session 1 or 2 to learn more about the curriculum and class schedule/expectations. This night is geared toward adults. Parents only need to attend one session.  Two sessions are provided to allow parents to go to multiple grade levels if necessary.

Membership Toolkit:  Simply verify your information is up-to-date and select your teacher(s) this year.  The toolkit is a valuable resource to stay informed, access current calendar events, view opportunities for involvement, and access directory information.  Please take a moment to update here and click login!


The Annual Family Check-In: can be found in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. On the left menu screen in black, click  "More", then click on "Online Registration Portal." If you are new to Infinite Campus, please note the "New User" link under the Log In fields to get started.


Student fees: Credit card payment of student fees for the 2025–2026 school year and prior year fees can be paid by logging into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and clicking on the “Fees” navigational tool.

Street Smarts at Streets of SouthGlenn

SHOP AND DINE TO EARN POINTS FOR SANDBURG!

The Streets of SouthGlenn Program is Back! This is a big one for our school as we have won 1st place in the competition in many past years! This has equated to $2500 back to Sandburg to use on school supplies, teacher appreciation lunches/dinners, and gift cards to use for prizes or auction baskets! Last year we came in 2nd place, and we NEED YOUR HELP to get Sandburg back to the top spot this year!

It’s easy to help Sandburg earn $350 to $2500! 


  • Just shop and log receipts from any of The Streets at SouthGlenn stores and restaurants between August 1, 2025 and April 30, 2026.

Sandburg earns five points per dollar spent, with many additional bonus point opportunities throughout the year.  August - September, Sandburg will receive 10X the points per dollar at select stores (see flyer below).
