Welcome Back Sandburg!

We hope you had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to get back into the swing of school.  As we return, we want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for the support and generosity shown by our community during the holiday break.  

We received many thanks from both the Holiday Giving Campaign, which supports Sandburg families in need, and from our dedicated staff.  Because of your generosity, all of our families were able to fulfill their needs this season, and every member of the staff received a special gift.  Thank you for making a difference!

January 12th - 20th, Sandburg will offer Hearing and Vision screening for grades K-5. Screening will be conducted in small groups to ensure a comfortable experience for the students.  We are seeking volunteers to help escort students between their classrooms and the screening truck.  If you are able to assist, please consider signing up.  Please note, all volunteers must complete a background check prior to participating.  

Our much-anticipated spring fundraiser, Prom Part Deux, is just around the corner.  Please mark your calendars for February 28th and join us for a fun-filled, adult-only evening.  More details below!

Feb 28th | Prom Part Deux! Spring Fundraiser

Sandburg needs volunteers to escort students in grades K-5 to the vision and hearing screening the week of January 12th - 16th and on Monday, January 20th, 2025.

Volunteer Duties:

• Volunteers will escort 3 students from a classroom to the screening truck. The volunteer will immediately return to the classroom and get 3 more students, and bring them to the screening truck.  

• The volunteer will wait with the 3 students outside of the screening truck for the students on the screening truck to complete their testing. Once they’ve finished testing, the students will exit the screening truck, and the volunteer will walk those 3 students back to class and get 3 more students while the next 3 students are being tested.  

• This cycle will be repeated for each class. This procedure allows students to miss the least amount of instructional time possible. 

Volunteers should complete their background check in advance here and check in at the front desk when they arrive. Thank you!

The Holiday Giving Campaign helping Sandburg families in need was a success with direct donations of items and financial contributions to fill gaps.  We are grateful for all those who helped.

With dinner, drinks, dancing, and a prom-inspired vibe, tickets are expected to go fast, so grab yours now and secure your spot on the dance floor.

Playground Pals is intended for parents who wish to support school staff in fostering an inclusive, safe, and enjoyable environment during lunch recess. This initiative provides an opportunity to positively contribute to your child's school experience, with flexible volunteer options available to accommodate your schedule.

Thursday afternoon/evening on January 15th, Sandburg will earn 20% back on all dine-in and carryout orders from Parry's Pizza!  Located in Southglenn, this is a great time to "Double-Up" with the Streets of Southglenn receipts and the donation from Parry's.

There is no code but mention the fundraiser: "Sandburg" when placing your order.

Every receipt from The Streets at SouthGlenn earns 15 fundraising points per dollar spent for Sandburg.

Please remember to include your child’s teacher’s name so the class receives credit.
(Each receipt can count toward one class.)

Email Receipts

• Send photos to sandburgreceipts@gmail.com

• Include your child’s teacher’s name in the email

Drop Off at School

• Place receipts in the collection box in the main office

• Write the teacher’s name on the back of each receipt
