Team Sandburg,

We've got several important updates to share this week. The PTO meeting has been moved from Feb. 11th to Feb. 24th. PLEASE mark your calendars and join us if possible. There will be some very important budget, fundraising, and staffing updates, and we'd love to have the community there.

Prom Part Deux tickets are on sale, and there are some exciting details below.

Valentine’s Day parties are right around the corner! Students can get creative and may bring a Valentine’s box that fits inside a grocery bag. If you have extra boxes or decorations to donate, please drop them off at the front desk by February 6th.

We are also saddened to share the passing of former Sandburg principal Karen Tarbell and are grateful for her lasting contributions to the Sandburg community.

Prom tickets are on sale now, and the auction lineup is shaping up to be a big one.

With significant budget cuts ahead that will impact staffing, all funds raised through Prom Part Deux on February 28th will go directly back into Sandburg Elementary to help bridge these gaps.

This year’s event will feature several high-value, can’t-miss experiences, including:

• Baseball tickets donated directly by the Colorado Rockies

• A two-night stay with breakfast at the Hyatt Regency Denver at Colorado Convention Center

• Center ice tickets to see the Colorado Avalanche

• A premium orthodontics package from Holt Orthodontics

Dress up, show up, support Sandburg, and get ready for a night to remember.

We are saddened to share the passing of Karen Tarbell, a former Sandburg principal and a deeply respected leader in our school community. 

During her time at Sandburg, Karen was known for her steady leadership, genuine care for students and staff, and her lasting commitment to making Sandburg a welcoming place for families.

She leaves behind a meaningful legacy, and our thoughts are with her family and all those whose lives she touched.
