SUBJECT: Sandburg PTO: Conference Week & Thank You!

Good Morning Sandburg!

Parent-teacher conferences this week, which means no school Thursday or Friday!  Sign-up for a time if you have not already.  The kids have a short week, but please remember the teachers have a long week, so be respectful of your appointment times!

Information on the Teacher Drawing is here! The drawing will take place on March 19th, so everyone will have time to review those amazing experiences with our beloved staff.  See more below.

Join us on FRIDAY - April 3rd for the Sandburg Spring Social, "This Place About to Glow!" From 6:30-8:30, there will be a glow-in-the-dark party featuring putt-putt, a bubble balloon house, music, and more!  Buy tickets in advance for $4 / person.

Prom Part Deux was a fantastic success - Thanks to YOU!  We are still accepting donations towards the event through Friday, March 6th which will directly help support the budget shortfall coming in the 2026/27 school year towards staff. We are so grateful to be able to offer such significant support to keep our kids learning at the level they deserve.  Thank you Team Sandburg!  More details on the total raised coming soon.

It's time for the TEACHER DRAWING!

We are excited to announce the return of a favorite community fundraiser - the exciting and much loved - TEACHER’S Drawing (formerly known as the Teacher Raffle)!!

This is a fundraiser aimed at offering kids the opportunity to spend extra quality time with their favorite teachers and staff. The Sandburg Staff is generously donating their time AND these experiences for which the kids can purchase tickets. Each ticket is a chance to “win” these special “experiences” with that staff member. All proceeds will go to support the ‘26/27 PTO Budget, helping to fund paraprofessional staff support and various school equipment purchases/improvements.

Buy your tickets by Monday, March 16th and enter for a chance to WIN!

Click HERE for the complete list of teacher and staff prizes available.

Most raffle tickets cost $2.00 and can be purchased online through this LINK.  Please complete your ticket purchases by March 16th.

The drawing will be held live on Thursday, March 19th during the lunch periods for each grade, with prizes being awarded shortly thereafter. Last year we raised nearly $6,000 for Sandburg and we are so appreciative of the Sandburg Staff for wanting to participate again this year!  If you have any questions, please contact Jess Pramov Sandburg PTO Fundraiser Chair, at email: jmpramov@gmail.com.

*Winners are responsible for working out the details and times of each prize with the offering teachers and staff.

Teacher Appreciation Week: March 16th - 20th

Sandburg will celebrate our staff the week of March 16th with the overarching theme of "Blossom Where you Teach." There are daily thoughtful activities or small gifts ideas that students can use to show our Sandburg Staff a little love and support.  Keep an eye out for communication from your room parent!

Spring Social: Glow!

Friday, April 3rd at 6:30pm, join us at Sandburg for glow in the dark activities and social hour!  Get your tickets in advance for $4 or $5 at the door.

Morning at the Capitol is Friday, March 20

The District Accountability Committee along with the Financial Advisory Committee are hosting "Morning at The Capitol" on Friday, March 20.  You are invited to join us for a meet-and-greet with fellow LPS staff, parents, and community members beginning at 7:30 a.m. outside the Old Supreme Court Chamber (Upper Level). We will then convene in the Old Supreme Court Chamber promptly at 8:00 for a discussion with our district’s legislators.

We are asking each individual to complete an RSVP form so we can plan accordingly. Additionally, this information can be accessed on the district website.

Please check this page regularly, as we will continue to update it with additional details, including parking maps and talking points.--
