Welcome Back Sandburg!

We hope you had a fantastic spring break and are ready for a week full of social activities!  We're excited about Skate City on Thursday, April 2nd, from 5pm - 7pm.  

Friday brings our Spring Social - get ready to GLOW at Sandburg! From 6:30–8:30 PM, enjoy glow-in-the-dark festivities including putt-putt, a bubble balloon house, music, and more. Tickets are $4 per person if purchased in advance or $5 at the door. For maximum effect, wear neon colors or white!  Volunteers are still needed for this exciting event.  Please consider signing up here.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Teacher Drawing and congratulations to our many winners!  We are grateful to our thoughtful staff and your generosity, which helped Sandburg raise over $7,500.  Your teacher(s) will be reaching out to schedule with you if you have won.

Street Smarts - Final 6 Weeks to Shop Local + Support Sandburg! 

Thank you all for your support of Sandburg by submitting receipts from purchases at the Streets at Southglenn!  

Right now, Sandburg is in 2nd place in the Street Smarts program and we are so close to taking the #1 spot, which would earn $2,500 for Sandburg!

Currently, Gudy Gaskill Elementary is ahead by only 25,000 points — but we can absolutely close the gap with your participation.

NEW: Bonus Points (5X Points) at select stores (see the graphic below for participating retailers thru 4/30!) That means we earn 25 points for every $1 in receipts submitted.

How to participate:

Let’s make a final push and take the #1 spot for Sandburg! 

Families with incoming middle school students are invited to visit Powell on Thursday, April 2, from 6:00–7:30 PM. Parents will have the opportunity to tour the school with Powell’s 8th grade Pride Leaders and hear from the principal, PTO, and other administrators about what to expect as students transition to middle school next year.

The Powell PTO is also beginning to fill positions for the upcoming school year and is hoping to welcome incoming 6th-grade parents to get involved. Several openings are available as current 8th-grade families move on.
