SUBJECT: Sandburg PTO: Sandburg Receives Grant & PTO Gives Big!

Thank you Sandburg!

Sandburg awarded $10,000 grant from the Reiter Family Foundation.  We are incredibly grateful for this gift that is allocated specifically to staffing.

Thanks to our fabulous community, we have had an exceptional year fundraising for Sandburg.  The PTO will be gifting $100,000 to Sandburg for staffing and facility improvements.  Combined with the Reiter grant, this will lead to $60,000 for staffing and $50,000 towards building needs!

We appreciate the support from our Sandburg Family, but we also need your time!  Volunteer options below; please help out!

Door decorating is a fun way wto show our staff your appreciation.  Simply select a door from the remaining 10 left to decorate, create a theme (or find inspiration on Pinterest), and decorate at your own pace. Team-up with another family, have your students pitch in and enjoy!  Decorations can be dropped off for installation by another volunteer by Friday, May 1st in the front office or build on-site Sunday, May 3rd. SIGN-UP NOW!

Book Swap books are due Monday, 4/27. Bring gently used, age-appropriate books and earn credits toward "new-to-you" books! Volunteers are needed to help sort books - no library experience required.  Please join us when you can.

Ms. Moody is retiring!  Please join us Tuesday, May 12th after school to celebrate her service to Sandburg.  We would love a few volunteers to help with this event; if interested email: sandburgpto@gmail.com

We look forward to your help!

Doors Galore!

National Teacher Appreciation Week begins May 4th. Reserve your spot to celebrate your favorite teacher or simply enjoy crafting. Check out past examples for inspiration or create something new to honor our staff's contributions this school year.

This can easily be done at home, and if you can't make the decorating party Sunday, May 3rd at school, just bring the door ready to hang to the office by Friday, May 1st!  We have 10 doors remaining!

Annual Book Swap

Book Swap is Back!  Just like last year, students will be able to "trade in" outgrown or unwanted books for "fresh" reading material for the summer. The PTO has funded additional popular books to supplement the collected volumes.

Drop off books in good condition in Black & Yellow bins by the front office by Monday, April 27th—labeled with student name, grade, and teacher (preferably bagged). Easy Readers count as 1/2 credit; board/free books won't earn credits but will be donated if unclaimed. All other books = 1 credit.

We need volunteers to help sort books!  Please sign-up - multiple days / times available.

Book shopping will take place the week of May 4th. Unselected books at the end of the week will go to Children’s Hospital.
