Hi Sandburg families,

September is underway, and there’s plenty happening. Our first PTO meeting of the year is coming up, with several important topics on the agenda, including Run for Funds and next year’s budget.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who volunteered to serve as a room parent this year. We appreciate you stepping up to support our teachers and help keep clasroom families connected.

Families will be hearing from their room parents soon, so keep an eye out for classroom communications.

We’re also still looking for volunteers to help lead Fall Festival/Trunk or Treat in OctoberIf you’ve been thinking about getting involved, we’d love to hear from you. Keep reading for meeting details, volunteer opportunities and everything else coming up at Sandburg.

🎃 Fall Festival Volunteers Still Needed

Fall Fest/Trunk-or-Treat is set for Friday, October 23, but we stillneed 1-2 volunteersto help lead the event.

Event coordinators will help organize participating trunks, games and activities, and coordinate food trucks if desired. You’ll have support from the PTO throughout the planning process, so you won’t be doing it alone.

We need volunteers to step into these roles in order for Fall Festival to happen this year.If you’re interested in helping keep this Sandburg tradition going, please emailsandburgpto@gmail.com.

Join Us for Our First PTO Meeting

Our first PTO meeting of the year is coming up onMonday, September 14 at 5:30 PM in the Sandburg Library. And a quick reminder: PTO meetings have moved from Tuesdays to Mondays this year.

We have a lot to cover, so plan for this meeting to run a little longer than usual. We’ll be talking aboutRun for Funds, reviewing and voting on thebudget for the 26/27school year, and covering other important PTO business. This is also ouronly PTO meeting before Run for Funds, so it’s a great one to attend.

As always, everyone is welcome. You don’t need to be a PTO member or regular volunteer to join us.

Lost & Found

Sandburg’s Lost & Found has a new location this year and is now set up on the way to the cafeteria.

Please encourage your students to swing by and take a quick look for anything they may be missing. The next donation day is October 14, so be sure to check before then.

Sandburg's Movie Night Is Almost Here

Sandburg’s first-ever Family Movie Night is coming up on Friday, September 18,

Join us on the South Playground Field for the live-action How to Train Your Dragon. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs, get comfortable, and enjoy a movie night under the stars with other Sandburg families.

Doors open: 6:45 PM

Movie begins: 7:30 PM

The Stride Is Back

Join the LPS community for the 31st Annual Stride on Sunday, October 25 at the Littleton Museum. The event includes a 5K Run/Walk, Kids Fun Run, new Wheelchair 5K and Health & Wellness Expo.

Participating in The Stride is a great way to support the Littleton Public Schools Foundation, and your participation could also help Sandburg earn extra funding! This year, $15,000 in Health & Wellness grants will be awarded through school contests, including $2,000 for the elementary school with the highest participation and additional awards for increased participation, school spirit and more.

The more Sandburg families who participate, the better our chance to bring some of those funds back to our school.

Help Sandburg Earn Money with Street Smarts!

It’s easy to support Sandburg through the Street Smarts program at The Streets at SouthGlenn. When you shop, dine, enjoy a service or see a movie, simply submit your receipts so Sandburg can earn points throughout the school year.

Receipts from August 1, 2026 through April 30, 2027 are eligible. You can submit receipts online HERE or drop physical receipts in the Street Smarts Box located in the school lobby.
