Welcome to the 23/24 School Year!

Hello Sandburg Families,

Welcome back! We hope everyone had a great summer and that your kiddos are looking forward to their first day back at school next week. The Sandburg PTO has lots of great events planned. This weekly newsletter and our social media pages will highlight our news and events. Make sure to also check out the PTO website, which will be a main source of PTO information this year.

There are several events coming up next week, including the Back to School Social (Monday) and Kindergarten Parent Coffee (Thursday). Be sure to keep reading for all the details! Plus details on our Spirit Wear Sale, school supply kits, Street Smarts program and more!

Meet Your Teacher!

Join us Monday, August 14th for our Back to School Social! Come meet your child's teacher and reconnect with friends while enjoying a sweet treat! If you are able to attend this event, please fill out this Google Form by Friday, August 11th, so that we can plan accordingly. Staff, students and families are all invited to attend. We can't wait to see you!!

  • WHERE: North Playground/Courtyard (located off of South Columbine Way)

Each grade level team will be wearing a different colored t-shirt so that they are easier to find.

Kindergarten Coffee Meet and Greet!

Calling all Kindergarten families! Join the Sandburg PTO, Principal Keri McCabe and fellow parents as we mark the start of school. This is a chance for us to connect with you and answer any PTO or community questions you may have!  Or maybe you want to get more involved at Sandburg and don’t know where to start. This is a great opportunity to also meet other Kindergarten families!! 

We'll have breakfast goodies, coffee from Peet's and tissues if you need them. This is a very casual event so please stop by and grab something even if you can't stay.

  • WHEN: Thursday, August 17th 

  • WHERE: Upper South Playground (located off of Elizabeth Street)

  • TIME: 7:50am (after drop off) - 9am

We want to send a big THANK YOU to all our families who ordered pre-packaged School Supply Kits this year! All the supply kits were delivered to Sandburg last week and placed in your child’s classroom. We sold a total of 195 kits (an increase of 38 kits from last year!) and raised $975 for Sandburg! This was our second year offering this program and we are thrilled by its success. Thank you again for your support.

The Streets of SouthGlenn Program is Back! This is a big one for our school as we have won 1st place in the competition the past three years

It's easy to help Sandburg earn up to $2500! Just shop and log receipts from any of The Streets at SouthGlenn stores and restaurants between August 1, 2023 and April 30, 2023.


EARN 10X POINTS:

All receipts dated and submitted by September 30th earn 50 points per dollar spent when you shop at the following stores: Apricot Lane, Best Buy, Elevated Music Center, Floyds 99 Barbershop, Great Clips, H&M, Lighthearted Boutique, Marshalls, Old Navy, Paper Source, Ross Dress For Less, Staples, Sur La Table

Update Your Information!

Membership Toolkit is the platform for Sandburg’s Parent Directory. We invite all families to sign up for the PTO Family Directory through Membership Toolkit. This allows you to access the family/student directory as well as a calendar of upcoming PTO events and PTO communications/newsletters.

To remain active within the system, you must login and update your account information at the beginning of each year.

Sandburg Directory

We are working on updating our Sandburg directory for the 2023/24 school year.  Please login to your Membership Toolkit account and update the information for your children, particularly their current grade and teacher.

Create an Account

If you don't already have a Membership Toolkit account, here's what you need to do: 

  • Go to https://sandburgpto.membershiptoolkit.com/
  • Click on the Register/Login button.
  • Select "Create Account" and fill in the name, email, and password information.
  • Click "verify my email" and then check your email for a link to complete the process. The link expires in 2 hours. If you do not receive the email, check your spam or junk folders.
  • Once you have verified your email address, log back in and finish the registration process.
    1. Complete the Parent/Family and Student Information.
    2. Complete the Directory/Publish Preferences.

Once the Primary Account is set up, the Primary User can "invite" other email addresses to access his/her account. This allows the Secondary User to have their own login information, but still have access to the family account.


Membership Toolkit Mobile App

Download the FREE Membership Toolkit Mobile App onto your smartphone for easy access to the directory, communications/newsletters and calendar. Simply download it from the Apple Store or Google Play, sign in, click on “Carl Sandburg Elementary PTO" and begin using the app!

Have You Completed Your Check-in?

Hey New and Returning Parents - we still need some of you to complete your Annual Family Check-in. Each year, parents are asked to review/update the information LPS has for their student, family, household, and answer several questions. The link to complete the Annual Family Check-In can be found in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. The screen is black on the left side, and under "More", click on "Annual Family Check-In" (see screenshot below).

The Annual Family Check-In should be completed prior to the first day of school on August 15, 2023.


Payment of student fees

Credit card payment of student fees for the 2023–2024 school year and prior year fees can be paid by logging into the Infinite Campus Parent Portal and clicking on the “Fees” navigational tool.

King Soopers Rewards Program

Every time you swipe your card, put in your alternate ID, order groceries on your app, etc. you could be donating to Sandburg. A percentage of your grocery bill gets donated to Sandburg through the King Soopers Community Rewards Program.
