SUBJECT: PTO Weekly News - It's Run Week!!!

Hello Sandburg Parents!!

We are very excited for Friday's Run4Funds event! Early Bird donations are due by Thursday, 9/21. We are just $10,000 away from reaching our Early Bird Donation goal of $25,000 so that the kids can receive a Foam Party on Run Day...please help us get there! We also wanted to mention that there was a mistake in last week's class run times for 4th and 5th grade. Check out the corrected times below as well as all our Run4Funds details.

We hope you will join us tonight or tomorrow for our Out & About at Chook Charcoal Chicken, where 20% of your order will go back to our school when you mention "Sandburg."

A reminder that our next PTO meeting is this week, Thursday, Sept. 21 from 6pm - 7:30/8pm in the Sandburg library. We love new faces and there is no time like the present to find out about what is going on at Sandburg. The October PTO meeting will be held on TUESDAY 10/24 due to the school board meeting where they vote on boundaries being on 10/26.

Don't forget that the Long Range Planning committee is hosting three identical community events this week to discuss potential school boundary changes. Attendees can drop in any time during the open house to learn about the options being considered, ask questions of Committee members, and give feedback:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 19 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. at Powell Middle School

  • Wednesday, Sept. 20 from 4:00 - 5:30 p.m. at Euclid Middle School

  • Thursday, Sept. 21 from 5:30 - 7:00pm at Newton Middle School

The Knolls Home Tour

Do you love seeing remodeled homes or breathtaking décor? Get your HGTV fix by attending The Knolls Home Tour on Saturday, September 30 from 12 to 4 p.m.!

The Knolls Home Tour provides an opportunity to view several remodeled homes in the Knolls. It is a self-guided tour that allows you to experience firsthand how neighbors have enhanced their homes through creative design and clever renovation.

The tour is coordinated by The Steller Group real estate team and all ticket proceeds will benefit the Harris family—Knolls residents whose 10-year-old daughter, Lucy, recently experienced life-altering injuries.

Lock in your discounted rate by buying tickets for the tour now. Early bird tickets are priced at just $25. Ticket orders received after September 23rd will be priced at $30 each. Children aged 12 and older are welcome to join the tour.

Thank you for supporting your students in our Run4Fund$ campaign so far! As of now, we are tracking at 25% of our $60,000 goal.

This week is packed with events leading up to our Run!

Make a Social Media Post:

We suggest that you make at least one post on FB, IG, etc asking for friends and family to support your student.  Following is an idea for a post, change it up for your student as necessary!

"Katie is participating in Sandburg’s Run4Fund$ this week!  Her goal is to run 35 laps in 30 minutes.  She wants to raise $500 for her school so she can earn a Gift Card for Inflatable Rental, , !  Would you donate toward her goal?  Every little bit helps – thank you!  https://r4funds.com/schools/sandburgrun23/ "

Check on your Students’ Donations:

You can look up your students’ donations at https://r4funds.com/schools/sandburgrun23/, “Check My Students Donations” - password is: carl23. If you have donations that are not showing up online, it is most likely due to a misspelled name or nickname that doesn’t match up to your student’s name on the roster.  Please be assured that the Run4Funds staff will go through all donations before any prizing to make sure that they match up to students. No donations will be missed.

Next Week:

Friday, Sept. 29 — All Donations Due

All donations are due today. We are asking that donations be made online via our website. If you do receive cash or checks, please put them in an envelope clearly marked with your name and return it to your teacher or the front office. You do not need to return anything for online donations. Checks should be made out to Sandburg PTO
