News for the Week of 10/10/23


Hello Sandburg Families,

Happy Tuesday! As a reminder, Sandburg will be hosting a forum with 3 of the 4 candidates vying for a position on the LPS Board of Education. The meeting will take place on Tuesday, October 24th at 6:00pm in the Sandburg gym. If you’d like to submit a question to be asked during the forum, please email sandburgpto@gmail.com by Wednesday, October 18th - there will be no open Q&A at this event. If you’d like to ask any or all of the candidates a question, please submit it to the PTO. 

We have several events on the calendar next week, including an Out & About at Mici's Italian in SouthGlenn on 10/17, our Glow Party at Skate City on 10/19 and Spooky Streets at SouthGlenn on 10/20. For those who are in town, we hope you will join us!

Don't forget that next week is Parent/Teacher conferences, with October 19, 20 and 23 being non-student days.

Who Loves Pizza?!

Mark your calendar for our next Out & About on Tuesday, October 17th at Mici's in SouthGlenn.  Enjoy great pizza, pasta and salads in a family-friendly atmosphere.

Mici's has extended the fundraising hours for the entire day and includes dine-in, takeout, delivery and catering orders. Many parents have had their offices cater a work lunch while giving back to their child's school.

For dine-in, make sure to mention "Sandburg". If ordering online, use the code "SCHOOL" to ensure we get credit for your order.

Let's Roll!

Join us for a fun GLOW-themed event at Skate City in Littleton! This is a private Sandburg event, just for students, staff, family and friends from our school.

WHEN: Thursday, October 19 from 6-8pm

WHERE: Skate City, 5801 S. Lowell Way, Littleton, CO

Admission is $7 (skate rental is $4) and Sandburg will receive $3 back for each person that attends. All teachers and staff are complimentary. Skate City will have glow sticks, laser lights, and LED items available for purchase, to go with some great music, and giveaways throughout the event!

Join us for Spooky Streets next Friday!

Get ready for Halloween and enjoy everything spooky at Spooky Streets at Streets of SouthGlenn on Friday, October 20 from 4:30-7:30pm. 

If you attend this event, please take a photo of your entire group and upload it to: https://shopandlog.wufoo.com/forms/street-smarts-events/. Sandburg will earn 1,000 points for every person in your photo. These points add up quickly and help us GREATLY in our effort to win the Street Smarts Program!


EARN TRIPLE POINTS:

Donate Your Old Shoes

Help support Littleton High School After Prom and FBLA (Future Business Leaders of America) by donating your gently worn, used and new shoes!

Donated shoes will be used in microenterprise ventures in the developing world - a true win-win.  Any and all gently used and new shoes are welcome....unlimited amounts accepted. The more shoes they collect, the more funds they raise!

Playground Pals Needs YOU

If you are looking for an easy/flexible way to volunteer at the school, Playground Pals is for you! This Program is designed for parents to help the school staff promote an inclusive, safe, and fun environment during lunch recess.
