Get Involved with CSSAC

PTO is looking for people interested in serving on the Carl Sandburg School Accountability Committee (known as CSSAC).

Each school is responsible for establishing a School Accountability Committee (SAC) that consists of the school principal, a handful of teachers and parents, and a representative from the PTO. Currently our CSSAC meetings are intertwined with our PTO meetings, but we are looking to separate this committee.

The two main responsibilities of the CSSAC are:

  1. To make recommendations to the principal on the school priorities for spending school funds;
  2. To make recommendations to the principal and superintendent concerning preparation of a school Unified Improvement Plan.

What's Involved:

  • The obligation for this committee would be to attend monthly advisory meetings to discuss strategies with various members of the district and community.

Are you interested?

  • If you are interested in joining this committee and sharing your ideas for the future of Sandburg, please email sandburgpto@gmail.com.
The Sweetheart Dance is BACK!

We are so excited to invite you to an old, beloved social event - a Candyland-inspired "Sweetheart Dance". Join us on Friday, March 1st, 6:00 - 8:00pm, at Goodson Rec Center for an unforgettable night of fun and dancing!

  • Music by DJ Bryce. Bryce has done many LPS dances and knows how to bring the fun and get everyone on the dance floor.
  • Candyland themed snacks and a photo booth will be provided as well.

This dance is for ALL Sandburg students! Each student is required to bring ONE adult guest with them.  Adults must stay for the entirety of the evening.

TICKETS:

Tickets will go on sale next week and will be $8 per twosome if you purchase ahead or $10 per twosome at the door. Watch your PTO newsletter for the Cheddar-up link.

We hope to see you and your "Sweet" dancing shoes!
