Team Sandburg,

Thank you to all the families that purchased back to school supply kits, and we hope to offer the program again next year.  We sold a total of 170 kits (including a handful of donated kits!) and raised over $1,600 for Sandburg!

We've got a lot of fun activities coming up, including Chick-fil-A tonight, with 15% of sales coming back to Sandburg.  A new scholarship fund for Sandburg students in need, thanks to proceeds from the Cherry Knolls home tour. Plus, the ever popular Kona Ice after school next week.

Please don't forget, your Annual Family Check-in and to update Membership Toolkit.  These are important resources, including permission for yearbook inclusion, Chromebooks coming home, and to receive information from your class Room Parents.  More details are available and in last weeks newsletter.

We look forward to seeing you at Back to School: Curriculum Night, on Thursday, August 29th from 5:30pm – 7:00pm.  

• Session 1 in the classroom is from 5:30-5:55 pm
• Principal McCabe will speak in the gym from 6:00-6:30 pm 
• Session 2 in the classroom is from 6:35-7:00 pm

Please join your classroom teacher in either session 1 or 2 to learn more about the curriculum and class schedule/expectations. This night is geared toward adults. 

Room Parent Sign-ups!  PTO will be placing Room Parent sign-ups in each classroom for interested parents. We would like to have no more than (2) Room Parents per class.

We are excited to introduce the Sandburg PTO Scholarship Fund!  This fund is designed to help students, who may not otherwise be able, to take part in extracurricular opportunities available at Sandburg Elementary. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and will be approved by a team of PTO executive board members and school administration. All identifiable information will be removed before being brought to the approval team to keep this process confidential.  

One of the ways you can support this fund is by joining us at the Cherry Knowles Home Tour. The proceeds from this event will go directly toward the PTO Scholarship Fund. If you are unable to attend the home tour, but want to give to this scholarship fund you may make a direct donation through the provided cheddar up information.

Books! Books! Everywhere books! Volunteers help the Librarian by checking in books and organizing the library. All training is provided with no library experience necessary. The library is a great place to volunteer with your child's class! Volunteer once a week or once a month.
