Hello Sandburg Families,

Happy Halloween! Today is the last chance to get your Krispy Kreme dozens in support of Sandburg. Charity doughnuts are naturally guilt-free and can be shared with friends and family all across the country! All you do is order via our fundraising sales page, visit your nearest store & redeem using your code (works the same for gifted dozens). Get your doughnuts HERE!

Next week we will be hosting our annual Scholastic Book Fair in the Sandburg library. Keep reading for details on shopping times, eWallet set-up, and a volunteer sign-up link. We are also looking to fill several volunteer positions including a hospitality committee and Holiday Parade float committee. Please consider helping out - your contribution makes a difference! Sign-ups for each of these can be found below.

We Need YOU!

Our school would not be the wonderful place it is without YOU!  There are many ways for all parents to help the PTO. Your time and talents are valuable assets – each of them enhances and enriches our school. Whether you have the time to chair a committee, or just an hour or two here and there to help out, your contribution makes a difference! 

Here are a couple of volunteer openings we currently have:


Hospitality Committee 

The committee responsibilities will be to handle ordering, delivery, set up and break down of meals and treats provided to teachers and staff throughout the year. Typically this is during conferences, at the holidays, and during Staff Appreciation.

Photographer Needed for Fall Fundraiser

We are still looking for a photographer to help with a Family Holiday Photo fundraiser in November.  The time commitment is approx 2 - 4 hours for the family photo sessions and time to edit photos.

5th Grade Float Committee

Attention 5th Grade Parents! We are looking for several parent volunteers to help students create the float for the Streets of SouthGlenn Holiday Parade on November 17th! The 5th grade is coming up with the theme, and we need 5th grade parents to help facilitate the float creation and decoration. We also need a truck and trailer volunteered.


Volunteer for the Book Fair

It's book fair time! We need volunteers. We need you! This is always a lot of fun and if you volunteer you often get first dibs on the goods that can go quickly. All purchases go toward buying new books for the library and it's a great way to get started on your holiday shopping list.

Typically the Book Fair raises a few thousand dollars each year that goes directly into new books for the Sandburg library, so your time is extra valuable!

Parents are welcome to shop the following times:

  • Monday, Nov. 6th: 12pm - 4pm
  • Tuesday, Nov. 7th: 8am - 4pm
  • Wednesday, Nov. 8th: 8am - 6:30pm (Family Night)
  • Thursday, Nov. 9th: 8am - 4pm

Book Fair eWallet is a digital payment option that’s a safe, convenient alternative to cash. It's easy to create an eWallet for students to shop the Fair. The account owner simply adds funds and/or invites family and friends to contribute. Get a Jump on the Holidays!

We are excited to announce that we will be extending the Charleston Wrap fundraiser to December 4th!  Please get your orders in soon to secure delivery by Christmas.  


Here’s how to help:

  2. Invite friends and family to shop and support! Send emails, share on social media, and text the fundraising link to your friends & family to quickly spread the word!
  3. Shop! With over 2,500 gift ideas, you can check-off your holiday gift-list and support our school, too.
