Sandburg’s Got Talent!

The seventh annual Sandburg’s Got Talent Show will take place May 22nd! Open to 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students, interest should be expressed through the Google Form by Friday 4/12.  Students/Groups will then need to submit an audition video no longer than 90 seconds by April 20th. Students may only perform once, no multiple auditions (i.e. no solo and a group performance).

The specials team will use a rubric based on Organization, Appearance, and Originality, to determine which performances will be showcased at the school wide performance on May 22nd.  Polished planning and practicing is highly encouraged, as we can only take a limited number of acts for the show.

 Important Dates:

  • Google Forms submitted by April 12, 2024

  • Audition videos submitted by April 20 to mrowe@Lps.k12.co.us

  • Finalists announced May 3

  • Morning Performance 9:30 am, afternoon performance 1:30 pm, May 22

The Sandburg Book Swap is Back!

Just like last year, students will be able to "trade in" outgrown or unwanted books for "fresh" reading material for the summer. The PTO has funded additional popular reading material to supplement the collected volumes.

Books in Good condition can be placed in the labeled Black & Yellow bins near the front office entrance 4/12 - 4/24.  Please label books with the students Name, Grade, and Teacher - ideally, bagging all books together with a label inside and out.  All Easy Readers will count as 1/2 credit, and books will be chosen by students 4/29 - 5/3.

Donations are very welcome and credits can be "given" to a teacher to assign as they see fit.

PTO - only a few openings left!

The 24/25 school year has only a few spots remaining on the PTO Board.  Consider joining a great group of parents striving to make Sandburg the best school possible. Click here and fill out the PTO Board Interest Form, or email sandburgpto@gmail.com for more detailed descriptions and to find out how your skills, knowledge, and talents can help your community flourish.

PTO Board Openings

  • Secretary (Lead or Co-Chair)
  • Fundraising - Apprentice
  • Social - Apprentice

To clarify, an "Apprentice" shadows the current board member for one year to learn all about the position's commitments and responsibilities. The expectation is that the “Apprentice” will fill the position the following year.

Other PTO Openings

  • Streets of Southglenn Coordinator
  • Spirit Wear/School Supply Kits Coordinator
  • Teacher Cart Coordinator
  • Littleton Stride co-chair

Sandburg's Solar Eclipse

Monday 4/8, Sandburg students and faculty were able to view the solar eclipse from the playground from 12:30p-12:50p.  This celestial event was met with great excitement and energy, and thank you Sandburg for the approved eclipse eyewear for safety.
